Peanut Butter Bars

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, sugars, and peanut butter. Mix in vanilla and eggs.

2. In separate bowl, mix flour, oats, salt, and soda. Slowly add flour mixture to wet ingredients. Mix until incorporated.

3. Bake for 12-15 minutes

4. Whip 1 cup of peanut butter and spread on top of warm bars.

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
1. Melt butter over low heat. Stir in cocoa and vanilla. Pour cocoa mixture over sugar. Beat in milk one tablespoon at a time. Add more milk if needed. Whip frosting with whisk or electric mixer to make light and fluffy. Spread evenly over peanut butter bars.
